Cronje Beukes SA Marathon Championships - Paarl 2023

The race started off fast and soon I was part of the leading group that consisted of 5 riders. 

We flew through the first trail sections and at the 17km mark Ernie Roets put in a huge effort.

I managed to follow and we worked well together to build on our advantage. 

I felt really good and as the race went on I was getting more and more confident in my ability and training.  

We hit the 40km mark and with 20km to go I decided to go all in and went for it. 

It was a dream final 20km solo where everything flowed. 

Mind, body and bike were perfectly in sync and I could just drive it all the way home.
